Transition

Transition is something that can happen easily or can take quite some getting use to. I like to look back at things I use to do in the past and try to compare that to my present outlook to make sure some growth has occurred. When you think about transition it not only involves your mental, it also involves your physical, that is when you develop what we call in today's age your "SWAG". Now all transitions aren't good. Some of us become so consumed with what we use to be that we forget the end goal is to grow. We want to make sure we have that same image we had from high school and college which is fine but let's just make sure we add an elevated aspect of our image to that. Let's not be stagnant.
The picture on the left represents physical mixed with some mental transitions that I have encountered over the past couple years of my life. I went from a chile what are you wearing to a Mary J. Blige little sister at a banquet to a you thought you was cute huh to a black educated woman. Notice the last picture represents where I wanted to go in life and that is just the beginning of where I am headed. Don't get me wrong, everyone has different pictures to represent their transition, it doesn't need to be you in a cap and gown if that's not you. The transition should however place you at a more elevated point than where you first started to show your growth. That does not always have to come in picture or physical form either. Mental will do just fine.
I also came across some points in my life where I did not feel a transition, I felt stuck. I felt like I had reached a point where there was no more growing to do so I was just living a life that consisted of me going to work, coming home, going to bed, then repeat. I quickly realized that me transitioning into the business woman that I am wanting to become would never happen with a schedule such as that. I had to give myself a real reality check. That is where you have to discipline yourself and take accountability for your actions. Don't get stuck, get going and work towards that positive transition for your life. Let's not become stagnant and obsessed with what once was but become more obsessed with what could be. Some things I just don't care about anymore because I have a bigger vision for my transition in life. Life is what you make it so pick it up, dust it off, and throw some diamonds on it and you will shine forever.
Peace, Love, Davi
